Aylin Gürel

Aylin received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where she studied architecture with a minor in philosophy. Before graduating, she studied abroad at ETSAV in Barcelona for a year. She has also done a number of short internships at architectural firms such as KPF in London and EMBT in Barcelona.

Her research interests include finding the origins of modernity in the cultural growth of societies, in their collective labor, in art, and architectural phenomenology. Aylin is currently enrolled as a Masters’ candidate in the History and Critical Thinking in Architecture programme at the Architectural Association.
